E intanto è iniziata la partita di tennis in Ducati.

MCN riporta un'intervista a Hayden nella quale l'americano esprime un personale giudizio negativo di compatibilità tra la Ducati e Crutchlow vedendo nello stile di guida dell'inglese uno stile non adatto a domare la Ducati.
Sarà forse perchè Radiobox lo vuole già fuori dalla Ducati a favore di un pilota più giovane?

Nicky Hayden says he is not convinced that Cal Crutchlow’s aggressive and all-action riding style will match with Ducati’s factory Desmosedici like some people have predicted.

Crutchlow himself has spoken of the fact that his riding style is similar to that of reigning MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner, who remains the only rider to master the Ducati after he won the 2007 title and 23 races for the Bologna factory.
The British rider is currently pondering a lucrative two-year offer to quit the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 squad and join Ducati’s factory effort, as was exclusively revealed by MCN last month.
But 2006 world champion Hayden says the belief that Stoner used an aggressive riding style to tame the Desmosedici is a myth.
The Kentucky rider, who claimed a third top six finish of the season in Assen last weekend behind Crutchlow, told MCN: “Cal has got the right attitude and he is not going to give up real easy but he was fighting that Yamaha a lot to be racing with me.
"He’s not going to have to fight that Ducati any less. I know people say he rides a lot like Stoner but from where I’m sitting I don’t see him riding a lot like Stoner. From where I watch there is a little difference there. I don’t want to sound like a hater just because they are offering him my bike but we’ll see.
"Cal is a good rider obviously but to say he rides like Stoner I’m not sure. People think you got to be aggressive on the Ducati but when you see Stoner go fast on it he let the bike move.
"The bike moved a lot but he didn’t. He was smooth and he never fought the bike. He let the bike move under him. With Cal the bike moves but also he moves a lot.
"Of course it is interesting and he has got a lot of potential. He’s got the right attitude and he won’t give up after the first couple of crashes so it will be interesting to see. Cal is fast and he has beaten me about every race this year so I’m not going to be silly to say anything.
"He rides hard and that’s the one thing this bike needs, to be aggressive and to heat the tyres.”
Ducati’s two-year proposal to Crutchlow has left Hayden’s future in the air and he has already been linked with a Ducati factory WSB effort on the new Panigale with Carlos Checa in 2013.
Ducati had an option on Hayden that expired after the Assen race but he has only had brief discussions with Ducati about remaining in MotoGP.

A quasi 40 anni, li compierà il prossimo 22 luglio, Franco Battaini torna a gareggiare nel motomondiale. Il collaudatore della Ducati correrà domenica il prossimo GP di Germania, al Sachsenring, al posto dell'infortunato Karel Abraham. Se il ceco non dovesse recuperare in fretta dalla frattura alla mano destra, Battaini potrebbe correre anche al Mugello il 15 luglio. "Ho deciso di prenderla come viene: non è facile", il primo commento del pilota.

"Diciamo che come allenamento non dovrebbero esserci problemi. Invece non so come me la caverònel confronto con gli altri, perché manco dalle gare da un po'... Devo riscoprire la pista e come stare in mezzo agli altri", le parole di un emozionato Battaini.

Alla vigilia del GP del Sachsenring, Valentino Rossi è sempre al centro del mercato piloti e precisa: "Non ho mai avuto contatti diretti con Honda Repsol, ma per me non cambia niente. Comunque non sarei andato nel team HRC perché non era una possibilità. In Ducati sono in arrivo delle novità da provare e stanno lavorando tanto. Abbiamo un piano e in questo momento è importante. Ancora non è finita e abbiamo delle possibilità per migliorare".

In Germania, Rossi torna dunque a dare fiducia alla Ducati: "Ci sono delle novità da provare. Speriamo che siano importanti e che funzionino. Abbiamo un piano almeno per cercare di migliorare. Speriamo vada bene perché in questo momento della stagione è decisivo. Voglio andare più veloce ed essere competitivo con questa moto, con cui non sono mai riuscito ad andare forte. E' passato tanto tempo e ancora non ce l'abbiamo fatta. Ma non è ancora finita".

Detto quindi che con Honda Respol (il team ufficiale HRC) non ci sono mai stati contatti, per il Numero 46 si aprono tre possibili scenari. Dove la prima ipotesi sarebbe firmata Ducati, che di concerto con il nuovo proprietario Audi potrebbe presentare a Rossi un piano dettagliato, concreto ed interessante per restare. Proposta che presumibilmente dovrebbe arrivare sulla scrivania del Dottore entro un mese circa, ovvero tra i GP americani di Laguna Seca ed Indianapolis.

Il secondo scenario vedrebbe invece un ritorno in Yamaha, dove Valentino ha molti contatti personali con il vertice giapponese, che potrebbe anche scavalcare eventuali ostilità di Lorenzo. Atteggiamento che per il momento, Jorge non sembra però manifestare. E' invece più complessa e remota la terza via, dove Rossi approderebbe in un team privato, con moto Honda o Yamaha, ma "satellite". Quindi con minori possibilità di vittoria. Mentre proprio il podio, e soprattutto il primo gradino, sono gli obiettivi che Valentino ha già messo al primo posto per la scelta del suo futuro.
